TipWell is a free, fast, mobile-first tip calculator and U.S. tipping reference. We exist because tipping is everywhere and the answers shouldn't be hidden behind ads, paywalls, or signup forms.

What we publish

• A live tip calculator that splits the bill, rounds cleanly, and shares via a single URL — no app required.
• A pillar guide and 20+ service-specific guides covering the U.S. tipping norms most people actually need.
• Evergreen explainers on the etiquette questions that get asked again and again: pre-tax vs. post-tax, tip vs. service charge, etiquette updates as norms shift.

What we don't do

• No accounts, logins, or personal data storage.
• No popup ads, autoplay video, or aggressive monetization.
• No paid recommendations — we don't accept payment to change what we say a fair tip is.

How we're funded

TipWell is independent and self-funded. If we monetize in the future, it will be through clearly-labeled, non-intrusive display advertising. We will never accept money to alter our tipping guidance.
